Comal Community Band

Welcome to the Comal Community Band!

The Comal Community band is comprised of a diverse group of musicians. Although the band rehearses in New Braunfels, we have members who come from San Antonio to Seguin and even Fredericksburg. The age range in the band is also very broad with members in their 20’s through their 80’s. Members have a wide range of experience level, and we are proud to have several current and former band directors, music teachers, professional musicians and students playing with us. The band averages ~ 30-40 members and rehearses Monday nights from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. The band rehearses all year except for a short summer break in July and August. The band instrumentation is that of a large American show band. Our goal is to provide a variety of music genres depending on the venue and theme of the performance. Our repertoire includes show tunes, big band, rousing marches, classical arrangements, German music, military theme songs, and seasonal music.

The band welcomes new members of all ages. The only requirements are that you at least 18 years of age (younger than 18 is fine if you have an adult sponsor), you are able to read music, play an instrument suitable for a concert band (i.e. brass, woodwind, or percussion) and want to have fun. Come check us out!
